Vertigo

Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 film “Vertigo” is considered a Hollywood masterpiece. The plot revolves around a former investigator named John “Scottie” Ferguson, played by James Stewart. Scottie is afraid of heights and is recruited by an old acquaintance, Gavin Elster, to investigate his wife, Madeleine (Kim Novak). Gavin thinks Madeleine has been possessed by the ghost of her ancestor, Carlotta Valdes, causing her to behave strangely and potentially endangering her life. Scottie hesitantly accepts the assignment and begins following Madeleine, getting increasingly smitten with her as he spends more time with her.
