The Shawshank Redemption

Yet again beautiful adaptation, “The Shawshank Redemption” draws inspiration from Stephen King’s novella “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”, this 1984 movie is a must-watch.

“The Shawshank Redemption” is a critically acclaimed, 7 times Oscar-nominated film released narrates the story of Andy Dufresne, a banker who is wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife and her lover. Set in the 1940s, the film primarily takes place in Shawshank State Penitentiary, where Andy is sentenced to life imprisonment.

Andy befriends Red, a long-term inmate, and adjusts to his new life. He secretly works on a plan to escape but is killed by the prison guards. Andy executes his escape plan, leaving behind a symbolic act of justice and redemption for the corrupt individuals he encountered. Red is released on parole.
