Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathis’ OMG 2 has obtained ₹123 crores in the matter of 12 days since its release with Gadar 2.
OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi has made more than ₹100 in only less than two weeks. The movie scored ₹3 crores on the second Wednesday as revealed by Sacnilk. But, it’s been noted that the movie’s earning has declined on weekdays. The total the movie has earned so far is ₹123.72 crore.
Along with OMG 2, Gardar 2, starring Sunny Deol, and Jailer, starring Rajinikanth were also released on the same day. Both are noted to have earned huge numbers at the box office. OMG was released on August 11 at ₹10.26 crore and after a week, had ₹85 crore. After the second Monday, it stabilized and reached ₹12 crore after the second Sunday.
OMG 2’s Journey Since Its Release
The film directed by Amit Rai, shows the value of sex education in the Indian education system. The movie doesn’t consist of any graphic scenes, thus, has an A certificate, given by the censor board. However, the censor board has asked them to make changes in some scenes and then granted them the certificate. Most protagonists from the movie, namely Pankaj Tripathi, Govin Namdev, and many others have expressed their worries regarding this issue on social media.
Akshay Receives Praises from Wife, Twinkle Khanna and Gadar 2 Actor, Sunny Deol
Twinkle Khanna took to her Twitter and shared a message dedicating it to her husband, as OMG 2 soars the sky. On her Instagram, she wrote a note along with the film’s poster with its collection on it. She wrote, “Congratulations Mr K! So proud of you-A movie that helps change the system and shakes the box office. #omg2.” Moreover, Booby Deol in the comment sections congratulated both Twinkle and Akshay.
Akshay Kumar’s Overwhelming Response to the Positive Reaction
Seeing the love the movie has received, Akshay Kumar communicated his gratitude to the fans for watching the movie. Furthermore, he also wished success for Gadar 2, stating it was an ‘Oh My Gadar’ event. He also wrote on his social media pages, “A big thank you to our audiences for all the love for #OhMyGadar and giving us the greatest week in Indian Film History!”.
